Gavel was recruited to become a Queensland Police Service Dog, but it soon became clear he didn’t have the characteristics for the job. But he’s landed a new career working for the Governor of Queensland, where he holds the official title Vice-Regal Dog.
Gavel’s duties now include greeting visitors at the Australian province’s official home and workplace of Queensland Governors.
