Baby’s First Word Is ‘Mama’ But He Keeps Saying It To Family Dog Instead Of Mom

Do you know what your first word was?

According to Caters, 7-month-old Leroy’s first word was “Mama,” but he doesn’t seem to fully understand the word’s meaning.

When Leroy started speaking, his dad, Adam, was over the moon. The Texas dad says that Leroy had been babbling “Ma,” for a while, but hadn’t made it all the way to “Mama” yet.

But once Leroy did manage to say “Mama,” Adam noticed something that cracked him up.

Leroy wasn’t saying “Mama” to his mom; he was saying it, instead, to the family dog.

As you can see in the video below, Leroy is really eager to get to his sweet pup — but he keeps calling the dog “Mama!”

The family dog seems pretty confused by her new name, and I bet Mom isn’t the biggest fan of this strange development either, but it’s still pretty adorable! I’m sure Leroy will sort everything out soon enough — as soon as he learns to say “puppy.”

Meanwhile, it doesn’t seem that Leroy has learned how to say “Dada” yet, but I’m sure Dad is perfectly happy to watch this funny mishap for now! Maybe Leroy will start calling the goldfish Dad?

Plus, Leroy will have a great story about his first word to tell when he grows up!

Check out the video below to see the adorable moment, and please SHARE this story on Facebook!
