His Wife Banned The Dog From The Bed So This Pug Papa Took Action!
Anyone lucky enough to have shared their life with a Pug knows that they are incredibly cuddly. Unfortunately, they also have a tendency to smell quite doggish – or Puggish – if you prefer.
One particular Puglet named Violet recently found herself banned from her favorite night-time snuggle spot due to her funky aroma. In a chivalrous act of protest and solidarity, Violet’s dad gave up his own place in bed to share the floor
Interestingly, Violet was not always the apple of her daddy’s eye. When daughter, McKenna brought the pup home this summer, he was less than enthusiastic. Violet, however, was convinced that her human dad hung the moon, and followed him around like…well, a puppy dog!
The pair began snuggling together in the family marital bed each night – which was fine by McKenna’s mom until last week when the time came for the sweet pooch to have routine surgery. As part of her recovery instructions, the vet specified that Violet cannot be bathed until she has fully healed.
Unwilling to share her bed with the pungeant Pug, McKenna’s mom put her foot down and banned Violet. Realizing that A Happy Wife = A Happy Life, Dad did not argue. He simply gathered his pillows and curled up on the floor with his favorite girl.

She admits she is slightly jealous that her dog prefers her dad, but she is also glad that the pair have made their peace.

“My dad was very not on board with getting a dog. It took about a week for him to fully accept,” McKenna told The Dodo. “But there’s something about my dad that my dog loves more than the rest of us, so when he saw that he was her favorite, they became BFFs.”
“So, she’s just super stinky at the moment and my mom just cleaned her sheets,” McKenna said.

“I’m glad he loves her as much as he does, because it’s way better than when he didn’t like her,” McKenna said. “Since then, she’s pretty much the best thing to ever happen in his eyes.”Violet’s sutures come out later this week, but until then, this devoted dog dad will continue to camp out on the floor with her.
